A small Red-bellied Black Snake (Pseudechis porphyriacus) has been caught up in bird-netting which was protecting fruit trees. The property owners have contacted Wildcare in Queanbeyan, NSW, Australia to arrange for the snake to be released. The video shows the procedure of cutting away the bird-netting. The snake will be looked after over late autumn and winter.

The snake is recovering well and eating. So that’s excellent. Hopefully once winter finishes it should be fine to be released.

Yes, I hope to find out how the snake is recovering soonish. I reckon the plot is that it will be released in our Spring, so in September or October.
