This was taken through my lounge window at a bird feeding station I have set up .I have about 10 species of birds that feed here .Amazingly there are 2 birds with leucitic coloration ,one is a sulphur crested white cockatoo , the other is a satin bowerbird . Here they are feeding together .Note that they have the same coloured brownish feathers .The cockatoo should be pure white , but looks like it has been fighting in mud ,but I can assure you ,I have seen this bird 4 a few weeks in all weather and its always like that .The bowerbird should be olive green but it is cream and brownish .I dont know what causes leicism in birds (I hope its not the chem trails ) ,but it has something to do with a defective gene .
