A Birds Eye View at the Pope

In a new childrens book, Max and Benedict, a little bird gives readers an inside look at how the Pope passes his time. Max is a curious little sparrow that lives in the cupola of Saint Peters Basilica. During the day, he flies to the Popes window the very one thousands of visitors gaze up to everyday from Saint Peters Square. From this vantage point, Max observes Benedicts long and busy days that often begin at sun up and end well after sundown. The book details the Popes daily itinerary, which includes meeting with visitors, reading correspondence, writing encyclicals and so much more. Its a clever vehicle for informing and satisfying curious mindsand not just the minds of children. The book is the work of journalist and author, Jeanne Perego and will be available in English on May 8th. CS
