I grew up in Campbell CA in the late 60’s. Lot of good concerts in the Bay Aarea I saw and lots I missed. I did see IABA twice. Nice album I recall to trip by. thx for posting.
brilliant, classique, romantic, everything that describes true beauty….timeless music!!!!
big thanks for sharing…..I still have the vinyl somewhere….cheers Gary
It’s the first warm day in the spring of ‘71…. all my best friends and I crawl through a second story window to sit on the porch roof ,with this song playing as we burn some delicious blond Lebanese hash.
I’ll never forget it … the world seemed perfect with everything as it should be – and life stretching out before us.
I feel so lucky to have had some time at the Fillmore … good days … good memories … I got a chance to see nearly every group that ever played the Fillmore … amazing shit that will never happen again.
i am an uncle bill lol… but an awesome tune.. i remember listening to this song.. my good friend in high school…summer of 74 …football practice,, double sessions.. we would get a break for about 3 hours between practice,, go get some lunch. go to his house..about 4 of us that always hung out ,..my friend dave would always put this song on… every day..lol.. i can never hear this wonderful tune and not think of that,.,thanks.
For all you people ot there; This song can never, ever be duplicated!
One of the very best of the very, very best.
Nobody can ever equal David on the electronic,(The first electronic violin). This is just so beautiful.
A composition right up there with Betoven, Litzt, Mozart, and maybe, Benny Anderson of ABBA.
Just so perfectly perfect.

A very intelligent angel introduced me to this epic song …thank you my dear angel …seems like the year was 1971 or maybe it was the latter part of 1970…no , it was 1971 ..because it was after we got back from europe ..and I and her had spent the night at the Hilton in Brussels …This song finished that night off climatically..perfectly .
the first time i heard it was when i was a kid. They played this song on country music stations sometimes, and that’s all my parents listened to.
Anyways, this song and only this song caught my attention because i did not like country music back then.
Anyway, although i find this song to be beautiful, it has always depressed me. Probably because of the lyrics, and because i felt like a caged bird when i was a kid.
The 1st time I heard this song I was sitting in the back seat of a mustang, parked on college cliffs on Pt. Loma, San Diego, peaking, sunset lowering over lone tree, and beautiful waves, and the most beautiful song I ever heard was being played. To this day, White Bird is still #1. Even my 17 year old daughter has it on the IPod faves.

Schönes altes Lied aus den 70-igern mit Kultstatus !
you said it. Why isn’t anyone still making music like this? I hate Goth and Thrash, love heavy metal, Zeppelin raised me and this song too.
hauntingly beautiful, as is girl with no eyes
Bill Graham threw me out of Winterland a few times for being so fucked up. I miss Bill Graham.

My dear friend, “Uncle” Bill, turned me on to this song all those years ago. Thanks, Bill, and RIP.

What sucks is the way the group got cheated out of their rights by a very evil manager.
